The Preschool October Harvest Packet is a month of short, printable fall lessons for children aged roughly three to five. It covers the early math and literacy skills most Pre-K and TK programs target in October, wrapped in a harvest theme of pumpkins, apples, acorns, falling leaves and a friendly owl.
Math work focuses on the numbers 6 to 10. Each number gets its own page where children trace the numeral, trace the number word, color the matching set of pictures and fill a ten frame, so they see the same quantity four different ways. Earlier numbers are reviewed on a 1 to 5 page, and count-and-dot and cut-and-paste pages build one-to-one correspondence.
On the literacy side, the packet introduces the letters E, F, G and H with tracing, writing and dot-to-dot letter paths, then checks first sounds from A to H. Two early sight words, "is" and "the", appear in a cut-and-paste activity and in simple I Can Read! sentences, giving young learners an early taste of reading on their own.
Thinking and fine motor pages round out the month: patterns, match the other half, which one is different, color by number, an A to Z pumpkin dot-to-dot, cutting practice and a pencil path to the pumpkin. Seasonal pages about fall clothing, the color orange and stop, drop and roll fit neatly into Fire Prevention Week.
A 4-week study plan maps out one or two pages per day, so you can print a week at a time and know exactly what comes next. All 34 activity pages are black and white with large pictures and roomy writing spaces, designed for small hands and quick classroom copying.
Pages are black and white with big pictures and wide writing spaces, so they print cleanly on any school copier and suit hands that are still learning to hold a crayon. Each page covers one skill, which keeps it doable in 10 minutes and easy to check at a glance.
Yes. The skills sit at the preschool to early Pre-K level, and the day-by-day plan works just as well at a kitchen table as in a classroom.
No. Every page is designed in black and white, and children add the color.
